Career Profile
Emeka Chima Ogoko is a Reader in Analytical Chemistry at the National Open University of Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Abia State, Nigeria. He holds also M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry and B.Sc. in Chemistry from Federal University of Technology, Owerri and Bayero University Kano respectively. He was the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Sciences from 2020 – 2024. He was the pioneer Head of Department Pure and Applied Sciences from 2016 -2020. He is a registered member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria and Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria. His research interests are in synthesis, characterization and remediation of industrial pollutants in environment using nanoparticles. Other areas of research interests are corrosion inhibition of metals, heavy metals and polyaromatic hydrocarbon pollution and remediation, qualitative determination of active pharmaceutical ingredients in certain drugs consumed in Nigeria. He has published several articles in reputable journals.
